Interactive photo exhibition “Live Asia”
The unique interactive photo exhibition “Live Asia” by Lucy Gunganima Maratkanova that was held in Izhevsk from 26 to 30 Oktober 2013 is over now. One hundred fifty photos made by author in the most amazing places of this fascinating, exciting and at the same time shocking Asia didn’t leave indifferent nobody. Living faces of people and nature, printed on “live” materials (canva and wood), literally bewitched attendees, inducing them to come again and again. During these 5 days the exhibition was attended by 8 thousands of people!
Inperceptibly even for project managers “Live Asia” transformed from the ordinary photo exhibition to the real Asian culture festival: every day of this ethno-project was saturated with intensive various contents. The best city and Russia masters conducted master-classes of eastern energy practices, Indian dances, deep-throat singing, calligraphy, art of Asian national cookery. Unique lectures were held, live ethnic music was played, rare movies were shown, the world famous Tuva virtuosic musician performed the master-class and the concert. Very special tea-n-drum party was held also. During these 5 days several activity stations offered aura shooting and diagnosis, henna hand drawing, vedic sweets and national Asian clothes shop. A lot of attendees admitted: “Our city had never seen SUCH event!” It’s true, indeed, we managed to channel the portal to Asia. Many people confessed that they used to attend the exhibition every day, bringing their friends and friends. The project’s coordinators express their gratitude to major project’s sponsors – printing company “Ultra” and the City Development Association – and all friends and partners. Afterwards the “Live Asia” is planned to be exhibited in other Russian cities and foreign countries.
